Back in its day the Hearts Content cable station was at the centre of innovation and truly at the cutting edge of technology at the time and played a key role for over one hundred years in the overseas communication sector.

1866 was the year that a major leap forward in global communications landed ashore at a tiny rural Newfoundland outport. Equipment and diplays explain the role the community played on the global stage.

The cable station is located on route 80 and is open from June to October annually.
